This rural residence is carefully sited along a ridge line on a 40-acre rolling site. The house features distant mountain views, with an existing oak anchoring the composition within the landscape. A winding drive ascends through a woodland, passing through an open meadow before revealing the house and gardens. Concrete retaining walls and a hornbeam hedge define the space. Adjacent to the parking court, a vegetable garden parallels the house. The screen porch features a view toward a lap pool that mirrors the sky, and precast concrete pavers with grass joints create subtle viewing terraces. A board-formed concrete wall and bench that obscures pool equipment is reflected in the water. Parallel to the pool, two rows of London plane trees flank a bocce court. Below the house and pool, a restored meadow encourages native species, blending seamlessly into the surrounding landscape.
